On the 1st & 2nd November, Lamda Hellix joined major Chinese Enterprises & Cloud providers in Beijing during DatacenterDynamics Hyperscale, the global summit for professionals involved in the design, delivery & operations of hyperscale digital infrastructure that supports the digital economy.
Lamda Hellix was one of the few European companies that sponsored the event as part of a European Delegation organized by the European Data Center Association (EUDCA). Before the event several meetings with Executives of major Chinese enterprises & service providers took place including Baidu, China Unicom, JD.com and Dr. Peng among others, discussing their plans for accessing the European market.
During the event, Lamda Hellix introduced Athens-Greece as a key gateway for all Chinese enterprises & service providers accessing Europe in light of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) based on:
- Greece being very stable both financially & politically while being part of Europe & Eurozone and having access to highly educated workforce.
- Excellent geopolitical location being at the most South East part of mainland Europe, East Mediterranean & North Africa with immediate access to more than 200M eyeballs.
- Excellent political & economic relationships with China certified by a number of very successful investments in Ports, Shipping, Power, Real Estate & Tourism.
- Lastly extremely low telecommunications latency through the latest Asia Africa Europe (AAE-1) subsea cable connecting Greece and China with the participation of both Chinese (China Unicom, PCCW) & Greek (OTEglobe) operators.
Apostolos Kakkos, Chairman & CEO, Lamda Hellix:
“The rise of China in the global exchange of goods, services, combined with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force in May 2018, creates a significant need by Chinese Enterprises & Service Providers for trustworthy presence in Europe. We do think that both Athens-Greece and Lamda Hellix’s world-class carrier-neutral Tier-III data centers, are an excellent choice for those demanding Chinese companies in need for not only best value for money in Eurozone but also immediate and concurrent access to mainland Europe, East Mediterranean & North Africa. Our investment in the Chinese market reveals our strategic goal into becoming the interconnecting digital bridge between China & Europe”.
