The 18TH annual KOUROS Awards 2012 were recently organized by the Greek Entrepreneurship Club in Athens, Greece. At the official ceremony over 500 guests were present, including members of the Greek parliament and distinguished business leaders of national & international corporations.

This year's Kouros Award for “Development and Innovation 2012”, the most prestigious accolade for business leadership and innovation, was awarded to Apostolos Kakkos, Founder & CEO of LAMDA Hellix, by Mr. Notis Mitarakis, Deputy Minister of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks.

The Entrepreneurship Club was founded in February 1995, by the Greek Management Association (EEDE) and 24 prominent businessmen for promoting Entrepreneurship in Greece. Part of its activities is to highlight and support young entrepreneurs in the country, according not only to the economic performance of their enterprises but also to their moral values and professional ethos. For that reason, the Club has established the Annual Entrepreneurship Awards “Kouros”. Nominees are selected by an independent committee on the basis of their business performance, effectiveness and contribution to their sector. During the process over 4.000 companies were thoroughly reviewed.

Apostolos Kakkos, Founder & CEO of LAMDA Hellix, on receiving the award was quoted: “It is a great honor for me personally and for LAMDA Hellix, to be selected as the winner of Kouros Award for Development & Innovation 2012. This latest distinction, in addition to becoming National Champion on the European Business Awards in early November,  rewards our progress so far and sets the pace for our future in Southeast Europe through our strategic infrastructure, our vertical expertise and our talented workforce.”
