Apostolos Kakkos, Founder & CEO of LAMDA Hellix, has been shortlisted for the ‘Data Centres Entrepreneur of the Year 2011’ award, while LAMDA Hellix, certified as one of the Strongest Companies in Greece 2010 by ICAP and holder of the ‘Best European Green Initiative 2010’ and ‘Best Regional Data Centre Operator 2009’ awards, has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Facilities Management for Data Centres 2011’ award.

Data Centres in Europe 2011 awards, organized by BroadGroup and judged by an independent panel of industry professionals, are Europe’s premier Awards for the Data Centre industry. The key assessment criteria for the two award categories shortlisted were:
Data Centre Entrepreneur of the Year Award:
The award is to identify an entrepreneur across any of the specified geographies, who can be an exemplar for world-class success throughout the data centre sector. Individuals nominated will have a demonstrable track-record of recent industry achievements likely to represent marketing flair, commercial success, significant business growth, uniqueness in approach, and industry leadership. 
Facilities Management for Data Centres Award:
This award is to recognise leading facilities management practice for data centres including Facilities management strategy, predictive and reactive maintenance policies and performance, KPI’s against service level agreements, achievement of facilities management qualifications and standards, etc.
