Since its inception in 1974, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), sets the global environmental agenda and promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development. This year’s theme for WED is “Go Wild for Life” and raises our attention to the illegal trade of wildlife encouraging us to take action and protect all those species under threat and to safeguard them for future generations.

In LAMDA HELLIX we have strong environmental ethos and beliefs and we’re trying to set an example with our actions not only to the business world but also to the future generations. For this year’s theme we created an internal campaign, addressed to all the personnel and their children, in order to awaken our environmental consciousness and urge us to realize the need to protect our natural heritage and its precious biodiversity. The outcome of this campaign was the sponsorship of a bear sheltered by Arcturos, a Greek Non-Profit Organization supporting the protection of natural environment and its species both in Greece and abroad.
