LAMDA HELLIX, an awarded data center solutions and services provider, announced that the innovative Athens-2 data center is shortlisted for the finals at the International  DataCenterDynamics EMEA Awards 2015.
The DataCenterDynamics Awards take place per region in an annual basis, being considered, by the global market, as the data center industry “Oscars”. LAMDA HELLIX’ Athens-2 is shortlisted amongst tens of candidates from Europe, Middle East and Africa, at the “Service Provider Data Center” category, which recognises business excellence in the demanding and complex field of providing data center services to organisations and enterprises.

LAMDA HELLIX’ candidacy includes the design, development and operation of Athens-2 Data Center, which was developed to respond to the increased demand for high quality hosting of critical infrastructure in South Eastern Europe. It is one of few data center globally to receive the LEED v4 Gold BD+C Certification for its “green” facility and operation, while it hosts ultra-high density computing systems in an environment of the highest physical and digital security.

Alexandros Bechrakis, Commercial Director at LAMDA HELLIX, commented: “We are proud of Athens-2 and the innovative practices used for the design, development and operation of this data center. Being shortlisted to the finals of an extremely demanding category at DataCenterDynamics Awards, where some of Europe’s most important data center providers compete, is a true delight. This new recognition for Athens-2, which is already awarded three times since the beginning of the calendar year 2015, is the capping stone for LAMDA HELLIX’ continuous efforts to make Greece, through Athens-2, the greatest Information Hub in SEE."

The winners will be announced and awarded on the 10th of December in London.
