LAMDA HELLIX is a Finalist at this year's Special 10 Year Anniversary Edition of the DatacenterDynamics EMEA Awards in two categories. Our nominations for Sustainable Data Center Award and Modular Deployment were selected among many projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa and shortlisted for the finals.

Our nomination for Sustainable Data Center Award describes LAMDA HELLIX’s new dedicated Data Center facility, Athens-2 and the innovative procedures implemented for its operation. Our facility hosts main or disaster recovery centers and points of presence of private and public organizations as well as service providers in Greece and in South Eastern Europe. Apart from Colocation Services, Athens-2 also incorporates Business Continuity areas for the implementation of our customers’ Business Continuity Plans.

On the other hand, our nomination for Modular Deployment analyses the project that LAMDA HELLIX undertook, on behalf of the Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET), for the development and operation of the first containerized, high density and highly efficient data center in Greece, which is powered by renewable energy sources. The deployment site is in an isolated rural area, adjacent to Louros River in Northwest Greece and nearby a major  hydropower station. The modular data center utilizes systems that were pre-engineered and pre-manufactured, reducing significantly design and installation time.

The next phase of the assessment will take place on November 14th and the winners will be announced on a Ceremony on December 2nd in London.
