Athens, Greece. LAMDA HELLIX, leading data center solutions and services provider in SE Europe, announced today that Athens-2, its innovative, energy-efficient data center, was honored again, being awarded the “Green Buildings” Award at the Responsible Business Awards 2015 Ceremony.

The Responsible Business Awards recognise and honor, amongst others, the development of products and services based on sustainable growth principles. Designed from scratch to provide incomparable energy efficiency, Athens-2 responds to the strictest standards for developing and operating green facilities. This fact is confirmed with a U.S. LEED v4 Gold Certification -a distinction awarded to specific data centers worldwide- for the design, implementation and operation of energy efficient buildings.

The awards ceremony took place on September 15th in Athens.

Following the award, Giannis Noulis, Director, Data Center Integration & Consulting Services, commented: “For our people, success is a result of systematic and coordinated team work. Athens-2 is the proof. We wanted Athens-2 to be the reference point for the data center industry in SE Europe, while highlighting Greece’s geopolitical place. We had the challenge of developing a data center totally compliant to the strictest standards for developing green buildings, able to compete similar facilities worldwide – so we delivered. We feel proud that our team’s efforts have been recognised and awarded”.
